Fixed bridges
Dr. Zajac and his associates offer our patients here in Oakville a fixed solution to replace missing teeth called a dental fixed bridge.
The most common type of bridge, the“traditional bridge”, consists of two crowns that go over two anchoring teeth and are attached to artificial teeth, filling the gap created by one or more
missing teeth.
Why would you need a fixed bridge?

Why would you need a fixed bridge?
- Fill space of missing teeth
- Maintain facial shape
- Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position
- Restore chewing and speaking ability
- Restore your smile
- Upgrade from a removable to a permanent dental appliance
I need one, what should I expect?
Getting a bridge usually requires at least two visits. The two anchoring teeth are prepared by removing a portion of enamel to allow for a crown. An impression is made for the bridge and a temporary bridge is installed. The permanent bridge is fitted and installed at the second visit, but permanent cementing may be done at a later time.
If you have any further questions about how a dental fixed bridge can be of benefit to you, please feel free to speak with Dr. Zajac or one of our East Oakville Dental team members today.
